Privacy Policy — The Last Second Workshop
This policy explains what information the mobile game The Last Second Workshop (“the game”) handles, why, and who it is shared with. The game is published by BlairsLab (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, contact us at privacy@blairslab.co.nz.
Summary
- The game has no accounts, no sign-in and no chat. We do not ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos.
- Your progress is saved only on your device. We do not run servers that receive your game data.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- Video ads are optional: one only plays when you choose to watch it for a bonus. When you do, Google AdMob receives device and ad information to show the ad.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information stored on your device
The game saves the following on your device so you can continue playing:
- Game progress: resources, machines, research, discoveries, story choices and tutorial progress.
- Settings, such as volume, reduced motion and whether optional videos are allowed.
- Records of items you own: purchase and transaction identifiers from Google Play, the items they delivered, and records of earned ad rewards, so items are delivered exactly once.
- A short log of the most recent error messages from the game, used only if you choose to send us feedback (see section 2).
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the game. The game does not include analytics or crash-reporting services of our own.
Feedback you choose to send. Settings includes “Send feedback / report a problem”. It opens your own email app with a draft containing your message, the game version, your device model, its operating system version and any recent error messages from the game. Nothing is sent unless you send that email, and you can read, edit or delete any of it first. We use what you send only to reply to you and to fix problems, and we keep it only as long as needed for that. Google Play may also send us anonymous crash and performance reports through its Android vitals service, depending on your device settings.
The game is built with the Unity engine. Depending on the engine version and licence, the Unity engine may send anonymous technical statistics (such as device model, operating system and graphics hardware) to Unity Technologies. See Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
3. In-app purchases (Google Play)
If you buy something in the game, the purchase is processed by Google Play under your Google account. Google handles your payment details; we never receive them. To deliver your item, the game receives from Google a purchase confirmation containing a transaction identifier and the product purchased, and stores it on your device.
Google’s handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Optional rewarded video ads (Google AdMob)
The game can offer optional video ads that give a temporary in-game bonus. Ads are off by default. A video loads only when you choose to watch one in the game’s Shop, and you can turn optional videos off at any time in the game’s Settings. There are no forced ads. The Ad-Free Workshop Pass lets you claim the same bonus without watching an ad.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC, and are limited to content suitable for general audiences. To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect:
- device information, such as device model, operating system, language and screen size;
- the device’s advertising identifier, where permitted;
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- information about the ads shown and your interactions with them.
If you are 16 or older and in a region that requires it, such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Google’s consent form asks whether ads may be personalised before any ad loads. How Google uses this information is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your Android device settings under Google > Ads (or Privacy > Ads).
5. Optional Founder rank on our Discord server
If you buy the optional Founder item, the game can show you a claim code so you can receive the Founder rank on the BlairsLab Discord server. The claim code is the purchase token Google Play issued for that purchase. It leaves your device only if you choose to copy it and give it to our Discord bot with the /founder command. When you do, the bot asks Google Play whether that purchase is valid, and we store the claim code together with your Discord user ID and username, so that one purchase can be claimed by one Discord account and the rank can be removed if the purchase is refunded. We keep this record for as long as you hold the rank. To have it deleted, contact us; the rank is removed with it. Discord is a separate service with its own privacy policy.
6. Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help delete it.
7. Who information is shared with
| Recipient | What | When |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Google Play) | Purchase details, handled under your Google account | Only when you make a purchase |
| Google (AdMob) | Device and ad information listed in section 4 | Only if you enable optional ads |
| Google (Google Play) and Discord | Your Founder claim code is checked with Google Play; the rank is given through Discord, as described in section 5 | Only when you choose to claim the Founder rank |
| Unity Technologies (engine) | Anonymous technical statistics, if sent | As described in section 2 |
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else unless required by law.
8. Keeping and deleting your information
- Game data stays on your device until you delete it. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes your progress. We cannot recover it.
- Purchase records are also kept by Google under your Google account, so you can restore permanent purchases.
- Information collected by Google AdMob is kept under Google’s policies. You can manage it through your Google account settings, and you can reset your advertising ID at any time.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Australia’s Privacy Act 1988, New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, the EU and UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to its use. Because we do not hold personal information about you on our systems, most requests are best handled on your device or with Google directly, but we are happy to help. Contact us at privacy@blairslab.co.nz.
10. Security
Your game data is stored in the game’s private storage on your device. Purchases and ads are handled by Google using its own security measures.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles information, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be noted in the game’s update notes.
